Card Shuffling Machines = the end of card counting?

Why are the casinos now using card shuffling machines? so they can rig it..

they can auto deal out low number cards to give you the totals 12,13,14,15,16 then the machine ensures it deals you a high number card to give you a bust.

Can card counters still beat these machines or not? why don't do the casinos just ban sober people with brains from gambling?

Not allowed to use our brain in the casino are we?

  1. Great Question!

The casinos are not there to make you rich, despite all their advertising promises and player promotion programs. They are there to make a profit and they will make one off the majority of players who walk in and play. And if they do not make a profit, they will not be there the next time you visit, lol.

If casinos were losing money,  then they would change the rules to ensure they do make a profit, which is why they use the Continuous Shuffle Machjines now. They were put in to stop card counting, and they work! These machines cannot be beat by card counters, but they do provide an honest almost fully random deal, they do not auto deal out low number cards then high numbers bust you. It just sometimes seems that way.

You should consider gambling entertainment, and a chance to maybe get lucky once in a while to win some cash. Just like going to a movie theatre, you pay to go in and watch the movie. In a casino, you go in and pay to play there. The difference is once in a while you will win at a casino, in a movie theatre, you never get to win the movie! LOL..

    Good luck!

  2. Card counting is very easy to break anyway.  Casinos have literally thousands of rule combinations they can use to make the house edge too great to beat.  By more frequently shuffling the deck there is less time to get to a good positive count before the deck is reshuffled again.

If you sit there at the table with the wrong set of house rules, frequent shuffles, and only betting big when the count is high enough, the odds are still probably against you.  Casinos really don't have much fear of card counters these days.

There are so many legal techniques they can use, and it requires long term concentration, flawless technique, mental discipline, and stamina.

Just a few mistakes and the card counter loses his edge.  I'd argue that card counting hasn't been much of a serious threat for years.  Even if one or two players are that good at it, there are thousands more who try and fail.

As for your assertion that casinos rig the shuffle with the machines, that is a total fantasy.  In order to do this Shufflemaster (the main manufacturer) would have to be in on it, along with the casinos.  We're talking hundreds of people who would all need to keep totally quiet about the scam, and no one ever alerts the press or gambling commission?  We are also talking about billion dollar businesses risking their legal right to keep their doors open to cheat people when the math is already in their favor.  There's just no point in it.  They risk losing their entire business, when they already make a fortune.

Unless you have some real evidence, I'm going to dismiss that as a conspiracy theory.

  3. <<<Why are the casinos now using card shuffling machines?>>>

When casinos started using card shuffling machines it was a time saving measure. The machine would shuffle one shoe while the dealer dealt another. At the end of the shoe the dealer would simply switch decks instead of spending the time to shuffle.

Now some casinos are using continuous shuffling machines, where every hand or two the dealer inserts the cards that have just been played into the machine which then distributes them into the deck, so you do not even take time to switch decks between shoes. The original shuffling machines had no impact on card counting. The continuous shuffling machines effectively defeat card counting.

<<<so they can rig it.. they can auto deal out low number cards to give you the totals 12,13,14,15,16 then the machine ensures it deals you a high number card to give you a bust.>>>

Certainly with a continuous shuffling machine that is possible, but I doubt if they would ever do it. That kind of cheating could not be kept quite for long.

FWIW, casinos are usually more effective at modifying the odds in their favor in hand-held one or two deck games. A good dealer can keep track of the card cound and shuffle the deck when the card count gets to be in the players advantage, while going much deeper into the deck when the casino has the advantage.

<<<Can card counters still beat these machines or not?>>>

In the long run, card counters cannot beat continuous shuffling machines. They can, however, beat the original shuffling machines in the long run.

<<<why don't do the casinos just ban sober people with brains from gambling?>>>

Believe it or not, casinos actually make most of their money off of sober people with brains.

<<<Not allowed to use our brain in the casino are we?>>>

Sure you are. As long as you realize that gambling is entertainment, not a money-making activity, you can still enjoy it. You can also pick games that you have a reasonably good chance of winning if you do not stay too long.

What they do not want you to do is be able to consistently make money off the casino.
