Card game for 2 people?

A good card game for 2 people besides Speed/spit or war

My husband and I play rummy or spades.  To play spades with two people, we each take turns choosing cards from the deck; look at the top one and keep it or discard it and take the second.  After all the cards are taken, we bid and play out the hand as usual.  It's time consuming dealing, but it's fun!

You can play canasta with 2 people! This is a complicated game until you get the hang of it.  You could practice this game on yahoo games.  Once you get the hang of it, it is fun fun fun!
