A card is drawn from a standard deck of cards. What is the probability that the card is a king if it is a face card?

  1. There are 12 face cards, 4 of which are kings. So if you are only looking at the odds of a king being drawn out of the face cards, then the odds are 4 in 12, or 1 in 3.
