Cardiff City sign Wolves striker
Cardiff City have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Andy Keogh on a seaslon-long loan deal.
Keogh becomes the second striker to sign on loan for the Welsh club following Craig Bellamy's move from Manchester City. Keogh is likely to go straight into the squad for the club's Championship game against Portsmouth this weekend.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy said: "It was my decision to let him go but he goes with our best wishes and warmest regards. Andy has been fabulous here both for me and this football club. It's a good move for him to go to Cardiff and good luck to him."
Keogh possesses a number of skills and a great deal of ambition that should see him settle in at Cardiff very quickly. Cardiff will be hoping that their new striker can help score a lot of goals and help the club win promotion to the Premier League.
Keogh's skills
Keogh is not the biggest and most intimidating striker that defenders will ever lay eyes on. However, he is very quick and agile and these are the things that make him difficult to play against. He can very easily wriggle away from big defenders who are trying to mark him in a touch-tight way.
He will play right on the shoulder of big defenders who will try and use their strength to keep him away from the ball. This means that the second a great ball is put through the heart of the opposition, Keogh can pounce and run in behind to try and get one on one with the goalkeeper.
No one would have blamed Keogh if he had stayed at Wolves because it is likely that the club will get an injury in attack at some point this season. This would have ultimately meant a chance for Keogh to play but it's clear he wants to get stuck in and involved in club football as soon as he can.
McCarthy added: "He wants to play football and doesn't want to be fourth in line here which I can fully understand."
Betting advice
Cardiff have now formed one of the best and fastest attacking units in the Championship. They have an attack laced with fast players who should score a lot of goals for the team. Back them to win by a healthy margin in one of their next few games.
