Cardinal tetras?

Are cardinal tetras ok in a small tank of there own? because i like them because of the red and blue on them.

  1. If by small tank, you mean 10 gallons or less, then a school of 6 to 8 will do well on their own in a 10-gallon tank.


  2. "Cardinals, being larger than Neons, really shouldn't be kept in a shoal in any smaller than 15-20 US gallons (55 litres plus) for a shoal of 6 or more, they should NOT be kept in smaller numbers.

    A 25-30 gallon with 10-12 or so and nothing else but lots of lushous live plants and well aquascaped would look good."

  3. Yes,you could also put some neon's with them,they look very smiler that would look very nice even with just the cardinals.Good Thinking.If you put a mirrorr for background it will look like you have twice as many.Yes i have used a mirro before just not with a Betta.
