Cardinals’ Kevin Kolb goes through complete workout, hopeful against Cowboys – NFL News
After missing four straight games, Arizona Cardinals’ injured quarterback Kevin Kolb is now finally expected to return on to the field in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season against Dallas Cowboys on
Sunday.
Kolb was injured in the week eight game against Baltimore Ravens. Initially, he did not participate in the practice session, and was forced to miss the following matches because he was feeling pain in his right foot.
Last week, he attended the practice session, but remained limited and did not have a complete workout. Nevertheless, it was expected that he would play the week 12 game. Unfortunately, he could not fully recover and missed that
game as well.
This week, he participated in the practice session on Wednesday, and did a complete workout indicating that he is fit enough to make to the final line-up now.
"Yeah, I feel really good," Kolb said. "Obviously we will see tomorrow how it feels after a full day like that, but I have full intention of playing."
The team management and the coach also sounded a lot more optimistic than before about Kolb’s recovery. On Monday, coach Ken Whisenhunt had said that Kolb had made good progress during the last few weeks, but maintained that the
player’s fitness would be monitored on Wednesday before making any decision.
After monitoring Kolb on Wednesday, the coach still refrained from giving any official word about the player’s participation in the game on Sunday and said that Kolb will stay under observation on Thursday. However, he was optimistic
and said that the quarterback could get chance to play against Cowboys.
“You try to do it in drill work or some of the plays in practice, but when it is full speed in the game, you just don’t know,” Whisenhunt added. “It’s very hard to simulate.”
Kolb has played seven games this season. He has eight touchdowns and eight interceptions to his credit, and completed 129 passes of 227 attempts for 1,706 yards. After the injury, he was replaced by John Skelton, who has four touchdowns,
seven interceptions and has completed 59 passes of 117 attempts for 750 yards in four games.
