Cardinals coach, Ken Whisenhunt optimistic about having injured Kevin Kolb this time – NFL News
Arizona Cardinals’ team management is once again optimistic that the injured quarterback Kevin Kolb will be fit enough to play the next match as Cardinals take on National Football Conference East division leaders Dallas Cowboys
in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
Kolb is a regular quarterback for Cardinals, but owing to a turf toe injury in his right foot, he has missed four straight games after week eight. Since then his status has remained unclear and it is speculated before every game
that he might be able to play it.
Once again, the same reaction has come when the team management expressed optimism about his recovery and appearance in the next game. However, this time around coach Ken Whisenhunt has said that he’s certainly more optimistic
about having Kolb back in the side.
"It's really going to depend on where he is Wednesday and as the week progresses," the coach said on Monday, "but he made enough progress last week that you feel good about him being able to do it this week."
The coach was of the view that the matter of Kolb’s injury is very delicate. He said that with such an injury, no particular time period could be given about any player’s recovery.
“It's not something you can put a time period on and say it should be healed or it should be good in this time frame, especially when it's your plant foot," Whisenhunt said.
Kolb is replaced by John Skelton, who has four touchdowns, seven interceptions in four games. He has completed 59 passes of 117 attempts for 750 yards.
On the other hand, in the starting seven games Kolb played in the season for Cardinals, he recorded eight touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 129 passes of 227 attempts for 1,706 yards.
Meanwhile, the status of running back Beanie Wells is also in jeopardy. He’s injured, but recovering well. The coach appreciated his ability to fight with the injury and said that his performance would be monitored on Wednesday’s
practice session before making a final call regarding his inclusion in the side.
Cardinals are ranked third in the National Football Conference West division with four wins and seven defeats.
