Cardinals’ quarterback Kevin Kolb practices again, optimistic against Cowboys – NFL News
Things have finally started to move the way Arizona Cardinals want. After missing four straight games, their quarterback, Kevin Kolb, practised for second consecutive day on Thursday and is lot more optimistic to play against Dallas
Cowboys in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season.
Kolb was injured in the game against Baltimore Ravens in the eighth week. His right foot was hurt that forced him to sit out of the next four games. Before all those games, it was speculated that Kolb might return to the side,
but the injury never allowed him to enter the field.
The same happened this week when Kolb and Cardinals’ coach Ken Whisenhunt expressed optimism about the former’s return. This time around, however, the hopes were strengthened to see Kolb practising. He had a complete workout on
Wednesday, which was followed by full participation in Thursday's practice session.
The coach, who had said that he would monitor the player’s performance on Wednesday and Thursday, now wants to observe Kolb in the training field on Friday to ensure that he is fit enough to play.
"I'd like to get through [Friday] and make sure there's no setbacks," Whisenhunt said. "We're obviously working towards that being the case. The only thing that's going to prevent that is if he has some soreness in his foot and
he doesn't feel comfortable on Sunday."
In the absence of Kolb, John Skeleton has taken his place. Cardinals have won three of the four matches Kolb has missed, but the performance of Skelton in the last two games was below par.
Cardinals have won four games in the season and lost seven. They are placed at the third place in the National Football Conference West division.
Kolb knows that his team does not have strong chances to make it to the playoffs and said that if quarterbacks do their job properly, the team will have more chances of winning the games.
“I think if you look back on a lot of games, if us as quarterbacks just did our part and just took care of the ball and played a good, solid game then we would have won quite a few of them," he said.
