  1. you just need to combine it well

  2. Running IS a cardio workout! Probably the most common one. Other ones include biking, swimming, working out on an elliptical, and more. I'd advise you to cycle your favorite cardio workouts every other day, i.e. on Monday you bicycle, wednesday you run for a mile and a half, friday you swim at your local gym, and Sunday or the next monday you bicycle again. Just an idea. Varying your workouts usually produces the best results and prevents you from getting bored!

When it comes to running, I like to listen to a preselected playlist of loud, pump up music to get me going. Also, don't think about the pain you're experience while running; instead, think about the INCREDIBLE feeling you get afterwards, when you know you pushed yourself to the max! Let your mind drift, don't focus on any pain or exhaustion you may be experiencing. Plan a party or your week while running, or think about a person you like. Also, set CONCRETE goals to achieve before running; don't just "run until you get tired." Raise these goals every time you work out to improve the most.

    Good luck!
