Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham confident to race at home event – MotoGP news
Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham is confident to improve himself at his home event in Brno, Czech Republic.
The Czech rider will enjoy his first visit to Brno in MotoGP class during the Cardion AB Grand Prix taking place on August 14, 2011.
Abraham said, “I have to admit that if somebody predicted these results when the season started I wouldn't believe them. But now I know I can do even better. Despite the fact that Brno is my home circuit I have no possibility to practice here during the
season.”
The Czech rider will ride with a new livery this weekend at Brno. Abraham is 12th in the world championship points table with 46 points. His season best result has been a couple of seventh places. On the other hand, he has scored four top-ten
finishes.
Abraham also added that he knows the fact that while riding on a MotoGP bike, the track gives a different feel. He is looking forward to experience his home event Brno this weekend. The Czech circuit is owned by Abraham Sr., the father of Karel Abraham and
team owner.
Abraham said, “Brno suits my style, although it's very difficult to find the right set-up of the bike here. It has a lot of fast corners, not chicanes. Some riders have a problem in Brno due to big elevation, but I like it.”
The Cardion AB rider shared that he feels low during the initial laps of the race, while struggling to get the feel on the track. This has been one major factor that has hampered his performance in previous races.
He claims that after sorting out this issue, he can confidently fight for top places in every race. Meanwhile Abraham commented that during his home race, his father Abraham Sr. was also present at the occasion.
Team and Brno circuit owner, Abraham Sr. said that it is an important event because a Czech rider will debut on his home event in premier class. The last Czech rider to race at Brno in premier class was Pavol Dekanek in 500cc class.
