Question:

Cards on the table, do you feel sorry for Lennon ?

It seems that Neil Lennon was assaulted last night, in all likelihood by someone who considers themselves a Rangers 'fan'.

OK, Lennon has not done himself any favours with some of his antics over the years, but I for one do not agree that this makes it OK for the guy to be physically assaulted. And that has nothing to do with the result from the game yesterday. That is taking things way too far. As for the comments about Tommy Burns and Phil O'Donnell, please do not assume that every Rangers fan was involved or approved of it. I had the utmost respect for Tommy in particular, and felt sorry when he passed away, as I did when Phil O'Donnell died, tragically young, with a family left behind.

The idiots who scraped the barrel yesterday managed only one thing, they took the shine off a great result and performance from Rangers. By the same token, I remember the jeering from some Celtic fans during the silence for the Ibrox disaster, but I will not condemn the entire support.

Surely it is now time for tarring everyone with the same brush, to stop ?

  1. Speechless.

Why would anyone do something like that?

  2. Yes I do and I hope the catch whoever did it.

I haven't seen any banners or even know what has been said with regards to Tommy and Phil but I hope these idiots are banned from Ibrox and they should apologise to both families for what has been said and done.

  3. Yes i do feel sorry for him, i'm a celtic fan and i would feel sorry for any rangers player that got assaulted, just for doing their job, it's so narrow minded, unfair and downright stupid.

As for the mocking of o'donnell and burns - these are just idiots that ruin it for everyone else, not football fans, only troublemakers, why couldn't they just enjoy the great win they achieved yesterday?

  4. not one bit, al give u a reason he did'nt press charges, its probably some celtic fans man thats knocked him oot for doin his lady..

  5. i agree with everything linzi has said, couldnt have put it better.

  6. There is scum everywhere!!

The Lennon incident pales in signifigance when compared to a woman and 2 children who were attacked by rangers fans after the game yesterday while driving home.

  7. there are animals on both sides, but the tommy burns and phil o donnell thing took it to a new sicker level, i hope the scum who thought that would be a good idea suffer really badly! and i accept its not all rangers fans just a minority!!

  8. 'I remember the jeering from some Celtic fans during the silence for the Ibrox disaster, but I will not condemn the entire support'
