Question:

Care of helix piercing?

I just got my helix pierced and the piercer used a gun, so now I'm partially freaking out and hoping that it won't get infected. The piercer didn't say anything afterwards so I'm unsure of how to take care of it and prevent infection as best as I can.

I have chin-length short hair that is too short to tie up, so it brushes against my piercing a lot, and I want to know some ways I that I can keep my hair out of the way and any other care tips you guys have. Thanks a lot!

  1. WELL
i got mine done, with the gun and it is FINE..nothing wrong with it. just try not to knock it cos it can hurt. and don't turn it to much, by doing that it can wreck healing process.
but if you are thinking of getting it done, get it done with needle, as it is safer.

  2. Don't let all these people scare you.  I got my cartilage pierced with a gun, and while I won't ever do it again, I didn't have any serious problems with it.  It didn't get infected and my ear didn't fall off.  It's not great, though.  If I get another one (and I probably will) I'll get it done with a needle, as should you.  Just keep it clean and keep an eye on it. I do have some scar tissue (in the form of a small bump on the back of the piercing) and it's not exactly pretty, but it doesn't hurt, and it's more of an aesthetics issue than anything else.  It will take a LONG time to heal though.
