Morning is dawning

Like the first morning

Daylight is breaking

With the first lighting

Phrase well the wording

Praise well the singing

Day’s dawning, yawning

And poets… waking?

GM all, you too Cat

Oh, forget, you have

a new name now!

  1. No I'm gettin' down, get funky!

Ever since I first saw Ely's morning poems I have been trying to put words together for that tune - you beat me, darn you Neonman ("no other name, beware of imitations")

    Thanks!

Sorry to suggest - maybe replace the last word in the first  stanza with "light" and the 2nd stanza last line with "Fresh, poets write" and it is truer to the tempo of the tune. :-)

    Feel da luuurrrvvve Brutha!

Yusuf Islam is cat's new name.

  2. Get those quotes and attributions in before E. sees you...heehee!

  3. This one sings and you know the tune. Apt change of words,

    Joyful sing along.

Thanks for my first morning smile. kudos.

  4. I've been up for about 10 minutes now...still not fully awake. Good morning, Neonman!

  5. You are a very perceptive person. That song by the former Cat Stevens is one of my favs. Actually, I have been at the computer since about 3:30 AM New York time. It is now almost 7:00.

I always see the dawn. Good Morning to you!!

  6. Dawn is just arriving here, heralded by your musical morning poem.  Good morning to you, Neonman.  I enjoyed your poem very much; very nice way to start off my day.  Thank you.

  7. Ahhh, a dose of peace and tranquility early in the morning.  I needed this.  Good morning to you neonman and Good morning to all.
