Career advice needed !!!?

I accepted a job and started recently with a great company.

Prior to interviewing with this company, I interviewed with a different company and was not offered a position, though they professed interest in me for another job. I will need to relocate for the current job if I stay, further from family but in the same locale. Original company is now calling to set something up to get me back in? Ugh, I will feel like a total s*****k leaving a company that trusted me and hired me only to leave before 1 week on-board. This is not an entry level job, both companies are industry leaders, but not competitors. Any help is appreciated.

  1. Be calm. This situation is not that unusual in the business world. Continue interviewing until you are offered the second job. Then, decide which one is better for you, long term.

Most companies look at it like this: if you've only been there a few weeks or less, they have a relatively small investment in you. So if you get a better offer, just give at least one week's notice, and move on. Any reasonable employer will understand.
