  1. Low pay as a Social Worker with a  huge case load.

  2. Here are some name's of careers that you can have in sociology.

    A sociologist

    A medical sociology

    social worker

    sociology teacher

Do research online to see what degree is required foe those careers, and more information about the education required.

  3. I have a degree in sociology (BA - 4years), I ended up being a caseworker in New York State in the US and investigating child abuse for about 5 years. I now am a software trainer. I teach caseworkers how to use the documentation system (and other tools) required in their job. I have been doing that for 8 years and am considering a change. Did I end up in this career as a result of my degree? Perhaps. I find the impact of technology on culture very interesting, and it informs what I do. In NYS casework in child welfare requires any 4 year degree. My experience in child welfare led me to my current position (not my degree).  So there is one example of all sorts of possibilities. I do not know of any particular career path that is targeted with a 4 year Sociology degree. More advanced degrees lend themselves to research and teaching in the field of course. Since understanding culture and social institutions is applicable to everything that people do I'd argue it is applicable to any career, but I am not the one hiring.
