  1. why are you asking in the special ed section? why don't people understand that this is the category for discussing issues relating to physical and/or mental disabilities?? please learn how to use yahoo answers properly

    thank you

  2. Well if you're looking for advice on how to give a career seminar to kids 12 to 17 who might want to work with children with special needs then you have come to the right place.

Unlike some other rude people on Yahoo, I will answer your question.

Tell the kids that they should treat the person with special needs as a person. They are a person first and the special needs comes second.

Your friend could talk about their personal experience with working in the field of special needs and what it is like.

Also mention what education requirements one needs or what the job opportunities are like.

Keep in mind that these are young kids - 12-17 which is a pretty huge gap to cater to.

Treat others with respect and treat them the way you would want to be treated would be far advice to give to students in a career seminar.
