  1. http://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/

  2. Classes: take as much math and sience as possible. If you have the money get your PPL right now. That way it will be less time after high school. The path Im taking is:

After highschool work on my ratings. Once completed go to collage while working as a Flight instructor, that way Ill be earning more money than if I were to work at Mckd's. Then once done will collage I might be done with hours, if not then keep working untill you do. Then apply to major airlines and you will have the Bachelors Degree and Hours, which is what major airlines require.

  3. Take as many math and science classes. Do well in all your classes but especially the above two. If you are considering becoming a military pilot, strive for the Air Force, Navy, or Marines. Try to get into USAFA (air force academy) or USNA (naval academy). any ROTC will work too.

if you just want to be a private pilot, go to your local air port, express your interest in becoming a pilot, and start taking classes.

for a teen, the whole deal will be quite expensive. it depends on fuel costs and plane rentals but all in all you will be paying between 3000 to 6000.

  4. Plan to go to college.  Any college.  Any degree.

Go to  local airports and find instructors to speak with.  Get some of the FAA books, and begin studying for the written exam; get it done as soon as possible.

Begin taking lessons as soon as you can schedule with an instructor.
