  1. They are the same thing.

It's basically med school only you work with animals instead of people. Contact the U of A and ask them what you need to do. They can lead you in the right direction and probably help you out more than anyone on here.

  2. Start with college.  You probably can get an idea of the right type of undergraduate degree you need by talking to you old high school guidance office or the equivelent at the local college you choose to attend.  .

The Doctorate degree is not an undergraduate designation.  That means you can attend the university of AZ and then alter apply to Veteranary colleges to get in.  (this is a very competitive field).  Good Luck

  3. The program at the University of Arizona in Tucson is for people wanting to be veterinarians.  If you want to do that, this is the place to go.  Why not call the veterinary offices in the town where you are going in Arizona.  Ask if you might set up an appointment (a short appointment) with the vet, tell him/her what you want to do. Prepare a list of questions, show these to your dad and ask him what he thinks of the questions... let your parents know what you are doing.  The vet will give you some good ideas.  Maybe you could work part time for the vet, too.

Many time veterinarians just out of college work with an experienced vet, then when they have enough money they start their own practice.

There is a program at some community colleges that is for Veterinary Assistants, too.  You could look into to taking those classes. It is a good start but certainly doesn't pay as much as the veterinary doctor.
