Career with sociology degree?

BA in Sociology

I need to know specific careers or titles or job descriptions.

a list of them if possible. Everywhere I look online it gives me career "areas" someone can get into....I want to know specific JOBS. The more the better and please be knowlegeable...dont just guess. and dont tell me a teacher or "social work" b/c im tired of those answers lol. something else please.

Government, look at the brochure of university for starters. Now email your local mayor or the educational board and ask them what the best thing there is to do to become the best you can starting with a sociology ba. Ask them what they would do. Ask in an email what they would do if they were you at your age and moment in time. They have been there and they are clever minded. Go to the source, ask people who are up there, dont ask people who havent made it. If they knew they would be there. Dont ask your teachers either or they would be there. Ask the people up there and see what they say. Email a rich person and ask them, they have words of wisdom. Good luck.

I am a junior in Sociology and I want to research my region's social structure and be a consultant for either local government, a think-tank, a non-profit that works in advocacy, fundraising, economic development, urban planning or policy making.

Not enough institutions that work intimately with the public understand sociology when they make decisions. It is what leads to so many failed policies. If one doesn't want to work with implementing social theory, you could always do research for universities or teach.... Hmmm... And there is the question of what type of sociology:

Organization: Corporations pay big money for organization consultants and motivators to redesign their structures, policies and goals for more effective production.

Crime: Criminology majors work in all that profiling and forensics stuff.

Political: Campaigns of every sort work best when people with knowledge on social behavior are the strategists behind them.

Economic: Anyone who cares about the economy should take sociology in school and hire a sociologist in their union. Sociology + Marketing = Ultimate Mind Control. lol

Family: Social workers and all the people who work with families are sociologically trained.

Yeah.... That's what I got. ^____^

Sociology does not really prepare you for specific "JOBS". It is a liberal arts degree and it prepares you to think. Given this ANY job that requires a BA would be appropriate for you.  So any entry level job in business, (sales, admin, etc) would be open to you.  You could also look at research assistant level jobs in  business (marketing), government, non-profit.
