Careers for hair independence

can anyone please cite careers (blue or white collar ones) that does not require a specific haircut?! i mean those careers where they let you be more of yourself.... please.... and please include your country...

  1. In the US, the construction industry is known for tolerating a wide variety of hair lengths and different personal appearance/fashion styles. (Not body piercing, though, because it can be a work hazard.)

    Retail is generally not tolerant of individuals with long hair or "extreme" hairstyles, but there are some exceptions. Whole Foods, for example.

    "Artistic" careers like advertising or movies are generally more tolerant. And, of course, the fashion industry tolerates and even demands cutting-edge looks.

    You may find small business owners who will be more flexible in appearance. Most large companies have fairly rigid rules on what they will accept, while a small business owner can make his or her own rules.
