Careers in Advertising and marketing?

Question

-i'm 17 and looking for a career in advertising or marketing.

-most likely i'll be going to an art institute for this.

- I only want to go to school for 2-4 years.

- MY QUESTION IS: Could I become an account executive with this education or what?

I'm really confused and any information will be highly appreciated.

Go to school and during semester breaks, intern at an ad agency - ask to work/support the account exec or account manager.  Get some experience because school alone won't get you into the account exec position right away.  

If you want to work in a marketing company (which is different from an ad agency), try to intern in a number of different areas (media buyer, account management, production management, etc.).
