I've noticed that more and more colleges nowadays have courses/degrees dealing with paranormal. Actual people are having careers for the "other" side and they aren't psychic! My question is besides being a psychic and medium what careers are there dealing with the paranormal?

  1. Paranormal is all about energy. Everyone can enhance it by training. If someone have abundant of this energy, he/she can help other people to cure any illness of energy imbalance. So, be a healer.

  2. Pretty much all the courses I know that deal with the paranormal are about debunking it, not studying it - or studying it as a way to debunk it, since it's never been observed.  And you can't get a degree in it.  Maybe a minor.  But not a full degree, at least in the US.  If you want to study the paranormal, start by getting a science degree and then go from there.  I suggest either psychology or physics.  Make sure to go for the PhD in the field so you know how to conduct your own research, because no one's really hiring in those fields so you'd be on your own.

  3. OMG, Fox Mulder would be happy!!! The only thing I know for sure is that there is a university in Paris (or college) that has a special science branch which deals with these phenomena called Zititiki, a word which in greek means asking for sth. But they don't actually study the paranormal, only trying to prove that there's nothing really in it.

  4. There are plenty of ways to make money by pretending to deal with the paranormal, but there are no real "careers" in the sense of having a legitimate, productive job.

  5. all i know are paranormal investigating.

  6. There are three main careers:

    * Investigator (someone who chases or hunts down or collects evidence)

    * Researcher (someone who finds out about the history of a place or event, or who looks up information relevant to an ongoing or planned investigation)

    * Parapsychologist (someone who studies the people who experience paranormal activity of some kind, whether they're UFO abductees or psychics or someone who's seen a ghost)

These three vocations can also be specific to one field of study, or include multiple fields. Examples of fields could include:

Debunkery (more than simple skepticism or casting doubt, this seeks to explain what could not be explained before, framing it in a normal context)

Volology (the study of ghosts and spirits)

UFOlogy (the study of UFO reports of sightings)

Cryptozoology (the study of paranormal creatures, like werewolves, bigfoot, and Nessie)

Paranthropology (the study of lost civilizations, such as Atlantis)

Parapsychology (study of people who report paranormal events or who claim paranormal gifts)

Parametrics (study of how to improve field research methods and refinement of methodologies in order to help arrive at empirical data)

Witchcraft (yes, witchcraft... the study of the effects of magic and apparent acts of will that are said to have environmental or interpersonal changes)

And these are only the ones I actually know about. Being that I've spent 15 years in the field, I haven't really worried much about things other than what I was directly interested in. However, there does appear to be just a little overlap in some cases, so I've actually gone into three of those fields as an investigator.

  7. parapsychologist.

  8. "I've noticed that more and more colleges nowadays have courses/degrees dealing with paranormal."
