is anyone here a caregiver in canada? i was supposed to apply as caregiver there, the canadian agency said that its going to have an 18 months processing of papers and i can fly to canada right after...

was it true? should i trust them?

  1. We are over run with "caregivers" here. I doubt very much you will be let in even after you submit all your documents. Our caregivers here have to go through a two year college course in order to be certified. They cannot give you a job here, when that job can go to a Canadian citizen with certification.


  2. It depends. We are employers of Filipina caregivers and the general delay is up to 2 years. This accounts for the LMO, the LMO to be mailed to you, your interview with Canadian Embassy in the Philippines (assuming you are there), the delay to get your working Visa...once you have your working Visa and SIN you can then get your airfare. Hope this helps. If by chance you fail the English test given by the Canadian Embassy the wait for another interview can be up to 2 more years.

  3. are you using an immigration agent or going through immigration Canada?

    Visa's can take a long time to process and also depends where you lodged your application
