I was driving about 50mph in a 55mph zone, when suddenly I realized I needed to turn around for something I forgot at home. I then put on my right turn signal and started to slow down, I was still doing about 40 mph in my lane and I was struck in the rear right side by a truck that tried to avoid hiting me. my vehicle went off the roadway to the left from the impact of being struck or the right rear.I was clearly in my lane. But the trooper said it looked like I was about to make an illagal left turn when I was not.I was going to pull over to the shouder to see if my package was in the back of my truck or not. It was a swamp on both sides and not enough room to make a u turn. Was I wrong or should the truck that hit me should be ticketed with failure to maintain control of his vehicle?

  1. I'd say the truck's at fault.

  2. Even if you were to make an unsafe turn the truck should not of been so close in the first place. I would get a lawyer and beat this case in court.

  3. tell that cop that he should stop eating tweenkies at pay more attention to peoples driving

  4. definitely not your fault.....I would get a lawyer and have him look into a possible connection between the cop and the other driver...(cops do favortism all the time)......also the cop has no way of knowing what you were doing as mind reading is not admissable in court.......fight it!!!!!

  5. the truck driver should have been in full control at all times but they way we see things and the way they really are sometimes don't agree with the cops or the witnesses view of things,i would protest that ticket though, since he hit you in the rear it should clearly be his fault,he should have been able to control his own vehicle, they would have ticketed him in Tennessee for doing that one, good luck.
