Caribbean Hurricane season?

When is the best time to go on a cruise? Thanks! I would like to go July/August

Well, hurricane season is from June1 to November 30.

So I would suggest you not take the chance and take your cruise at that time.

Probably you should have booked it for April/May or another time which is earlier.

Michelle Alicia is correct.  Hurricane season is officially  June 1st to November 30th but that doesn't mean you will run into anything except great weather in July and August so take your cruise and enjoy. Check the sites below for more info.

The main hurricane season is really Aug - Nov.  I've travelled and  cruised during a number of those months and I've never had anything bad happen.  My niece got married last August and went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and they had awesome weather.  It's a chance you take, but it is also cheaper then.  Talk to your travel agent, discuss insurance and if it will cover a hurricane (some do) and find out all the details.  If you are really worried about it, don't put yourself through it and just book a different time period.

I would choose July for my cruise month.  August gets tricky with those hurricanes. But let me mention, the captain will not take his ship into a cruise port where a hurricane is occurring. He would go to another port or ride out the storm in the middle of the ocean.
