Caribbean Vacation - Getaway?

Question

My best friend and I got boyfriends at the same time, they are really amazing guys and we are all very good friends. For our anniversary we would like to suprise them with a trip to the Caribbean... We are going to pay for everything!!! Our boyfriends are big surfers and outdoors people, and with all the possible places to vacation in the caribbean its hard to settle on one that will suit our wants. We want it to be high-class, comfortable, romantic, beautifull, GREAT beaches for surfing, etc. Please help!!!

You should look into a cruise!  You get to see the islands and do all that cool stuff and then you also have fun on the ship!

Antigua is a great place to vacation. Surfing in the Caribbean really depends on the time of year but the Atlantic side (usually eastern side) of the islands are usually best for surfer. Be careful though.

I dont believe the Caribbean is a top spot for surfing...better try Hawaii or Mexico instead. But Barbados and Puerto Rico are the most popular surfing destinations the Caribbean has to offer! The Caribbean Sea is calm so not really any big surfer waves..unless you go surfing during a hurricane. LOL!!!

Ok seriously, if you basically take away the surfing bit...I would suggest the Sandals resorts in Jamaica, Bahamas, Antigua or St. Lucia. It's posh, comfortable, and the islands are lovely.

Puerto Rico is the place for you! Puerto Rico has probably the best surfing in the caribbean. The north west & west coast have awesome surfing, but in the summer months the waves calm down, so you wouldn't get as much surfing then.  Also there are tons of outdoor things to do too.  Like other watersports, hiking, biking, sightseeing, etc. There is a Tropical rain forest called El Yunque & you can swim in the waterfalls :) There is Rio Camuy Caves which are awesome & Arecibo Telescope. The bioluminescent bay is amazing- you take a kayak & see the glowing water. Old San Juan is really pretty & romantic too & with tons of nightlife & everything modern too.

You are going to have to do some research to get exactly what you want but I would suggest an all inclusive resort. You can start by typing all inclusive Caribbean resorts. They will show you 3 to 5 star reviews. Have fun.

I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home!!!!
