Question:

Caribbean cruise for a younger couple???

My boyfriend (31 y/o) and I (24 y/o) are looking to take a cruise in December - either the first or second week, so we don't miss Christmas. We're looking into the Noordam cruise on Holland America but I'm reading some really crazy price scams online about Holland America and it's making me hesitant to book..

We hear Carnival is more booze cruising/partying, and Princess is dull. I've already been on Celebrity, and he's already been on Royal Caribbean.

What's a good cruise for two people who are looking to relax, don't like night clubs but enjoy a few drinks, and would like to have more to do on the ship than shuffleboard and crew talent shows, but don't need 24/7 entertainment to be happy?

Basically - where are we going to find younger couples and recently married couples? Looking to avoid the seniors and the kiddies.

  1. We always sail with Holland America. There are no kids (though I can't vouch for December) and while there is an older crowd, most of the people are between 30 and 50. The movies are great, the spa relaxing, and I love the outdoor pool. I also like their casino. As for the price scams, I've not seen any. However, we booked our March cruise in July, and when the newest flier came out it looked as though we had paid way too much. But, we realized that the cheaper price reflected cheaper accommodations. We also book through a travel agent. It doesn't cost any more, and adds another guarantee of satisfaction. Their island, Half Moon Cay is gorgeous. Finally, since we spend most of our days in port snorkeling, swimming, sight seeing, we're usually in bed by 11:00!

  2. I met my husband on Carnival Miracle and it was one fun party.  Then last December we got married on Carribbean Princess because its one of the few that marry you at sea.  It was a blast. It was mellower than Carnival but there were alot of people our age mid 30's.  The shows were good and my family age 17-70 all had a great time on that boat.  If you like Holland call them directly.  Or check out cruise crittic theres alot of info and message boards for cruisers there.  Happy Travels!

  3. basically, what you have just stated is a carnival cruise ship. lets see, you want to go to the caribbean? I recommend the carnival valor. its got everything from shows every night, games, swimming pools, spas, dance clubs, adult only bars, and alot of lounges to meet new people or just get away from the loud crowds of children. I have been on the Valor twice now, and both times I have concluded it to be my favorite ship on the sea.

The one we were on went to belize, Honduras, and cozumel. its definatley worth the money for a 7 day cruise. check carnival's website for any additional information, prices, and ship destinations. you might find an itinerary you would enjoy more.

      have fun!!  :D
