Caring for a wild cardinal URGENT

Question

Okay we found a cadinal with a broken wing outside and we want to nurse it back to health. Is there anything I can do without bringing it to a vet first? What do i feed it? I need help.

Are you positive the bird had just a broken wing?  Unless their are other internal injuries, a broken wing should not kill them. In the states, it is recommended if we find a dead bird to call the Health Department so they can test for West Nile Virus.
