Question:

Caring for kitty found under my porch?

We found a kitty under our porch, have been feeding it etc. Was very comfortable around myself and my boyfriend would come out to play with us around, would look for us when he/she got scared...now the kitty is gone. I watched one night and saw what we believe is the mommy cat(she looks identical to the kitty) eating the food we left outside. I'm guessing either mom came back for the kitty or kitty wandered off. Is there anything I can do to see if kitty comes back? I have never owned a cat, in fact never really cared for cats, but this little kitty has stolen both our hearts!!!

  1. Keep leaving food outside and keep a watch on it. Also ask around and see if anyone has seen it. It is quite possible that the bigger cat is the mother and has taken back her maternal instincts and is making the kitten hide....or....the older cat could have bullied and ran the little kitten off.

Good luck, and hope you find it.

  2. Casts are independent animals and dont remain loyal to a specific person unless you are like 80 years old and let it keep your lap warm day and night. You can consider leaving the food out but since you say you dont care for cats please remember that in 3-4 months it wont be a kitty anymore it will be a cat. Thus, the lost of charm could invoke a loss of interest. If it comes back good luck with it.

  3. keep leaving the food out, ask your neighbors if they have seen it.
