Carl Crawford ‘excited’ to take on New York Yankees at Fenway Park
The Boston Red Sox will be taking on the New York Yankees at Fenway Park in less than 24 hours. Former Tampa Bay Rays’ star, Carl Crawford, recently got on record to talk about the upcoming battle and he was delighted to reveal that he is excited about the
encounter.
"Oh, I'm very excited about it", Crawford said. "I'm looking forward to it - my first game at Fenway as a Red Sox. It should be really interesting for me and exciting. We'll see how it goes".
The relationship between the Red Sox and the Yanks adds spice to the formula as well.
"Yeah, that's one of the things you kind of signed up for when you came over here", said Crawford. "I'm really excited to see how that's going to turn out the first time we play against the Yankees".
The pressure is another dimension of the situation that the new Boston Outfielder has to contend with. The club has not won a single game in the season, so far. Going up against the Yanks with a blank victory sheet would make any player nervous but Crawford
isn’t flinching.
"I'm definitely ready for that", Crawford said. "That's one thing that attracted me here. You know it's going to be sold out. You know it's going to be exciting".
Crawford continued to explain the atmosphere at Fenway Park as he cited a lot of noise from the fans as being one of the important aspects of the games. The intensity at the park is something that gets players pumped up for the encounter.
He affirmed that this was one of the things that lured him to the Red Sox. He concluded his statement by saying that instead of getting booed by the masses the focus will go on to a different team, for the first time in the new Major League Baseball season.
The left-fielder currently has a batting average of .174. Furthermore, the player is 4 for 23. Adjusting to the new line up seems hard for the former Rays’ player.
