Boston Red Sox left-fielder, Carl Crawford was tremendous with the bat as he hit five RBIs and went 2-for-3 with an average of .255 in the Red Sox 13-2 win against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas on August 24.
Red Sox scored four runs in the very first inning to get a 4-0 lead. Jacoby Ellsbury posted a single run when Dustin Pedroia hit a single-run drive towards left-field. The second run was taken by Adrian Gonzalez when David Ortiz singled off right-field and
Pedroia moved to third base. Ortiz and Pedroia both added the third and fourth runs when Crawford doubled to right-field. Later on, Crawford advanced to third base on the throwing error.

permitted only one run, four hits, one earned run, two walks and one home-run with an ERA of 2.43. He was able to strike-out four batters on his 110 pitches.
In the fourth inning, Marco Scutaro doubled to left-centre and Darnell McDonald scored a single run to extend the Red Sox lead. On the other side, Rangers posted their first run to reduce their lead 6-1 when Mike Napoli hit a one-run homer (408 feet) towards
left-field. Crawford hit a sacrifice fly to right-field and Ortiz added single run during fifth inning to give the Red Sox a 7-1 lead.
Ellsbury struck a two-run homer (412 feet) towards right-field and McDonald scored one run in the sixth inning to advance their team’s lead to 9-1. In the seventh inning, Red Sox batters again added couple of runs to raise their lead 11-1. Crawford hit a
two-run homer (413 feet) to centre-field and Jed Lowrie posted one run for Red Sox.
During eighth inning, Red Sox remained on top as their batters scored two runs while Rangers contributed only one run to cut their deficit 13-2, at the bottom of eighth inning. Gonzalez homered (410 feet) to right-field and Scutaro added the last run for
Red Sox. Conversely, Elvis Andrus scored one run for Rangers when Napoli singled to left-field.
However, Red Sox led off the four-game series 2-1 after having a huge win.
