  1. You forgot Kyle Busch my man.  Like it or not he is right up there.  It will be a three way race with these top three guys.

  2. I think Kyle Busch is still a big contender,, but if something happens

to him,, I would much rather see Carl Edwards win it than Jimmie Johnson (who has won it two times in a row)!

  3. I think it will either be between Jimmie or Kyle.

  4. i disagree

    you asked

    only 3 wins will count

  5. They only seem to be peaking to you is because Kyle is having a little slump.

  6. Anyone can win. The points get erased when the cup starts. So anyone in the top 12 can win. It just matters how well they race and how well there car is.

  7. Kyle Busch has been too dominant this year for either Jimmie or Carl to handle imho.

  8. if you want to believe that that is ok.  ill wait an see for myself

  9. I will agree with you! I think Carl has a very good shot of winning the Championship this year!

  10. JiMMiE GOT iT!!!!

  11. No i think Jr will beat him out. Jr is the most consistant driver and that will account for every thing during the chase.

  12. Your forgetting Kyle Busch. How can the championship point leader and the dominant driver in the series this year not be included in the list of favorites? No doubt Edwards and Johnson are coming on strong the last three or four races but Kyle has been good except for Indy. Kyle had a top five finish locked up until he ran out of gas with two to go. Busch, Edwards  and Johnson are my three picks to duke it out for the title.

The key race for all three of these drivers will be the first race at New Hampshire. Johnson ran well and probably had the fastest car at the end of the race in June before the race was called due to rain. However, Edwards and Busch struggled mightly all day. It will be interesting to see if the 99 and 18 have made improvements to their flat track program because the 99 was good on the flat tracks earlier in the year but I'm not sure why he struggled as bad as he did at NHMS, The 18 has not been good at all on the flat track races this year. I believe his best finish is 10th at Phoenix. If the 99 and 18 have bad finishes like they did in June to start out the Chase they could be in a whole right out of the gate.

  13. It is hard to bet against Johnson since he has won the last two.  Carl is also doing good too.  I agree with you.  It is nice to hear that someone else has a chance at the cup besides Jr.

  14. I agree but still 12 hungry drivers wanting that Championship, 5 races to go before points reset..so lets wait and see!

Hoping that Gordon gets the 5 though, but in reality Kyle is the ringer for the Championship unless he has more bad luck and hopefully he willl not..don't get me wrong..I pull for Gordon, Jr, Kyle, Smoke, Johnson and a few others

  15. Don't count Kyle out just yet. Steve Addington and his crew were "experimenting" at Pocono with some things they think will help during the chase, they'll be doing it again at Michigan. He seems to be pretty excited about whatever it is they've stumbled upon.

But Jimmie and Carl are definately coming on strong.

  16. I think it will be between Jimmie and Kyle. Kyle has 70 bonus points already and with 5 races until tr hechase, whose say that he might not win one of those. Jimmie is capable of gaining the bonus points through wins and he seems to be doing better now and has more consistency.

  17. I agree to a point but I also have to disagree with you. Kyle Busch has, so far, been the man to beat at the majority of the races.

Jimmie has been consistent for the better part  of the year but hasn't really made alot of noise except with his 2 wins.

And Carl may not get the 10 points for the Las Vegas win but he's been strong all season too. Even when he has a bad finish it's been because of car failure, it's not because he hasn't been a strong contendor.

So I have to believe that it will be between those 3. As much as I want to say that Carl is going to win & noone else. He will still have to contend with Kyle & Jimmie.

  18. I agree with you, but I also think you should throw Kyle in the mix also. He has a lot of bonus points going into the chase. Though Edwards has four wins as of now, he will not get bonus points for one because of the infraction he received earlier in the year. Along with the 100 point penalty, they also took his 10 bonus points away for when the chase begins. It will be interesting to see if any other drivers go on a tear in the next five races as well, or during the chase itself.

  19. They are poised to make a serious run at it and I agree, they are peaking at the right time.  There will be a surprise or two during the chase and I think there will be 5 or 6 of them that are right in the thick of it until there are just a couple races to go.  It's all about avoiding major setbacks and points racing for those last 10 races.
