I was at the race last night in Fontana. No one could even get close to Whineya** Busch. He had a great car. I taped the race because I wanted to see the commentary after the race. Carl continues to be a class act. He gave Busch his due. BUT also pretty much said he intends to kick his a** tonight at the Pepsi300.

I'd like to know what they're doing to that danged Toyota.

Do you think Carl will win tonight, or will Busch sweep California?

  1. I hope that was a misprint by you, it's the Pepsi 500.  If Carl did say Pepsi 300 I think he will come up alittle short.

  2. I am going with Carl........

  3. Yeah I think hes gonna win....him or the 48

as far as a class act...couple things hes done that makes me wonder is:  what he did to Junior at Michigan while back, hitting him in the door like Cole Trickle after the race.....and grabbing his teammate Kenseth and trying to be a bully, by acting like he was gone punch him......

    .....other than that sure.

  4. I'll go with Carl any day...

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  5. Carl is definately going to win it tonight. He has the drive to get more points to catch up to Kyle Busch for the race. Considering he has  50 points to Kyle's 80 points.

  6. Carl's the "politician" of NASCAR. He says and does all the right things when the glitz and glam of the camera shines on him. But in reality, he's no better than the one you criticize.

Kyle just chooses to tell it like it is, without fear of political correctness.

I hope Kyle sweeps the weekend..

  7. Carl reminds me of a guy I use to work for.....

A real gentlemen and people-person out in the open...but a REAL *rick behind closed doors.

I think Carl just does a better job in front of the cameras.... at least KB is shooting straight.  When I was his age, I was pretty cocky too!

Jeff Gordon ends his draught tonight...a win at the home track!

  8. Between Carl and Kyle.   Yeah   Carl is more of a class act.   He does not whine like Kyle does.  Ot should be a very interesting chase.

  9. I'm with Carl. Cali is a sister to Michigan. And I'm hoping they're identical in more ways than one.  :)

GO CARL!!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO 3 IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Nope I disagree. At least Kyle says whats on his mind.  Carl can't can't even look someone in the eye when he speaks to them because he's afraid of a slip of the tongue.

Kyle called him Mr Ed, Harvick called him a Wolf in sheep's clothing, Stewart called him Eddie Haskel and Kenseth called him two faced because he's a pretender.    He's phony.  I hate phonies.  I'll take a Juan Pablo, Kyle, Tony or Robby Gordon any day over that type of fluff.

  11. i do agree with you about carl being a class act, however, i think it's unfair to compare carl to kyle considering kyle is a lot younger, and still has some maturing to do. i honestly think kyle has a better chance of winning tonight, but carl could surprise me like he has and make it three in a row. we'll see.

Good luck today carl and kyle!!!

  12. Yes, give the Devil his due, Busch dominated the race last night but that was then and this is now. I would love to see Busch get a D.N.F. for this race but that's not too likely to happen, I can still hope though. As the announcers said in last week's race at Bristol, Busch's cars ran great when he was out front by himself but not so great when he was back in the pack. So, if they can keep him back in the pack in this race he wont run away with it. It would make it a lot more interesting if Edwards wins tonight.

  13. I do not agree-but Carl is classier than Shrub !!

  14. he definitely comes across as a "more classy" act than most in front of the cameras - most of the time. he reminds me of tim bayliss, when pembleton is schooling him in one of my favorite scenes from the show "homicide: life on the street" - "you got a dark side in you ... virtue isn't virtue until it slams into vice." and off-camera, or when he thinks he's off camera, that dark side comes out. ask matt kenseth last year, or junior back in michigan in 2006. anytime he comes in second or gets wrecked he gets as frustrated or moreso than most, but he smiles while he tells the camera he's not going to comment. with kyle, it's all out in the open. there's a dark side to him and he knows it, and he's not afraid to show it.

EDIT: tbone makes a great point, as usual: many drivers have commented on what cousin carl is like, and i'm guessing they know more about him than we do...

  15. carl is not a jeff burton or mark martin, but he is much more polished and mature than kyle is at this point. maybe after kyle is done rubbing peoples noses (hms) in his success he will be a class act. i think carl will be very tough tonight.

  16. Being classier than Mr. 18 isn't saying much
