Carl Froch: I need to prove myself against Lucian Bute – Boxing News
Carl Froch, who is currently scheduled to go head to head with Lucian Bute on Saturday, believes this is opportunity to prove his calibre, as after his loss to Ward things have changed for him. Froch, who was leading a spectacular track record, found his
glory on a decline after he lost his WBC super-middleweight title to Ward in the final of the Super Six tournament in New Jersey. Froch was the favourite back then, but he could not take Ward’s performance and fell victim to the American.
In his recent interview regarding his fight against Lucian Bute in his hometown Nottingham, Froch said, “'It was a very bad night for me against Ward and I've got a lot to prove now. 'This is the comeback from the bitter disappointment on that night in Atlantic
City. I've been on the road now for three years, fighting away from home. 'Nothing has been comfortable, nothing has been easy, but there is a really good feel about this fight with it being in Nottingham. 'I've got a fantastic fanbase, as proved by the fact
the arena is going to be sold out. 'With the career I've had, over the last three years I've been through every emotion. I've been through the highs and lows. I know what it's like to taste defeat and it's not nice.”
Froch currently stands with 28 wins, 2 losses and 20 knockouts to date. He further added that his last loss was a very questionable decision against Mikkel Kessler and his performance against Arthur Abraham was his best ever. He then said that against Ward
his luck was not supportive which is why he lost in the Atlantic City. According to Froch, against Ward, it was a very close fight and that with a little bit of more focus he could have won it.
For now, the Brit fighter believes Lucian Bute is coming to his fortress and he will lose. Froch believes that crowd is very supportive towards him, which will be his advantage over Bute. On the other hand, Bute believes that crowd pressure will not take
him down, as he is well prepared.
