Carl Froch believes Lucian Bute has made a huge mistake – Boxing News
According to Carl Froch, Lucian Bute has made a blunder deciding to come to Nottingham for a fight against him. Bute and Froch will go head to head for Bute’s IBF super-middleweight championship in Nottingham on May 26 at the Capital FM Arena.
When asked about Bute’s decision of coming to Nottingham to face him, Froch said, “Give him credit for coming into my back yard. But I'll tell you now, he's made a big mistake. I'm going to try to catch him early with something sweet. It was a very bad night
for me against Ward. I've got to come back from that bitter disappointment. I've been on the road, away from home, for three years. I've been through every emotion, highs and lows. I've tasted defeat and it isn't nice. I aim to put it right. "I've got a fantastic
fan base and the Arena will be sold out. This is where I live and they will all be shouting and cheering for me.”
He further said that he went through a great training camp and he now feels strong and fit on the weight. According to Froch, he has been smashing records right from the start and he always finishes his fights dominantly.
It should be noted here that this will be Lucian Bute’s first ever fight away from his hometown. Even though Lucian Bute has achieved a lot in the industry, he has been criticized for not being able to fight elsewhere. Earlier this month, Bute said that
he opted to fight Froch in his hometown to show the world that he deserves the respect he never got. Bute thinks he can easily take on Froch and show the world that he indeed is the rightful owner of the IBF super-middleweight title.
Earlier this week, Bute said that even though the crowd will be hostile towards him, he would make sure he gives Froch a good beating.
Both pugilists are confident and strong-headed. Froch has the hometown advantage, which might dismantle Bute, since this is the first time he is fighting in front of a hostile crowd.
