Carl Froch claims biased judging will make it neccessary to get KO
Carl Froch may well be the most paranoid fighter on the planet.
In an article at thisisnottingham.co.uk, the super middleweight contender has suggested that he will have to knockout Arthur Abraham in their upcoming 27 November title bout to get the win because the
judges for the fight will be American.
"It's great to get the chance to be world champion for a second time," Froch admitted. "I wasn't happy with what went on [with Super Six planning] but at least it's sorted now. But it looks as though
there will be three American judges in Finland."
The bout will be for the vacant WBC super middleweight title, a prize Froch lost in his last fight against Mikkel Kessler. It will be held in Helsinki, Finland.
Kessler withdrew from the tournament after his fight with Froch due to an eye injury, vacating the title and putting it up for contention.
Froch has complained about biased judging in the past. He argued judges ought to be more globally diverse for title bouts.
"I think I’m going to have to knock Abraham out to get the belt back that was taken from me in Denmark," he stated.
Originally the WBC title was offered as a reward to the winner of the upcoming bout between Andre Direll and Andre Ward. However, the situation was altered due to the postponement of their bout as well
as a formal complaint lodged by Froch to the World Boxing Council.
Both Froch and Abraham have engaged in a pre-fight war of words, with Abraham stating that Froch hasn’t been able to get over his sole loss to Kessler, and Froch in response saying that Abraham was out
of line for being disqualified in his last bout. As both fighters like to emphasize the offensive and lack quality defense, the matchup looks to be a brawler’s delight, particularly if Froch will be hunting the KO.
