Carl Froch claims he will walk through Andre Ward’s feather-duster punches – Boxing news
The reigning World Boxing Council’s Super Middleweight champion Carl Froch has claimed that he is going to walk through the unbeaten American World Boxing Association’s World Super Middleweight champion Andre Ward in the final.
Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch and the American, Andre Ward, will take on each other in the ring later on in 2011 in the final bout of the Super Six Classics tournament. It will be a unification fight between both pugilists, which is being considered as one of the
biggest.
However, the 33-year-old Froch, who will face the unbeaten prospect in front of his home crowd, has claimed he is going to end Ward’s winning streak.
Froch admitted the fight is going to be a classic, as two of the finest ambassadors of the sport will be one-on-one in the ring. He said he is fully confident and will walk through the American.
Nottingham’s Cobra, Froch, who clobbered Jamaican’s boxer Glen Johnson last Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the semi-final, admitted the fact that his statements might be a bit disrespectful for Ward but he is only talking boxing and going in the ring full of
confidence.
While speaking on his inclusion, he remarked, “I'm going to walk forward, impose my strength and power, stick it on him and walk through his feather-duster punches. He's not known for his big punches, he's not a knockout man, so there's a lot of areas for
me to exploit.”
“But it's going to be a top fight between two top-level fighters, it's a unification fight and the final of the biggest tournament ever in boxing, and this is what sport's all about,” he added. “He may think I'm disrespectful, but I'm not talking personalities
I'm talking boxing. I'm going into that fight confident I can do a job.”
Froch admired Ward’s fighting capabilities and said he is an Olympic winner and someone who is very fast. He said he believes he did a better job against Arthur Abraham than Ward.
Let’s see whether Carl Froch is able to end Andre Ward’s winning streak or not.
