Carl Froch confident of doing some serious damage to Andre Ward – Boxing news
The reigning World Boxing Council’s Super Middleweight champion, Carl Froch, is super confident ahead of his attempt to unify the super middleweight division against the World Boxing Association’s king Andre Ward.
The Cobra, Carl Froch, is set to take on the current World Boxing Association’s World Super Middleweight champion, Andre Ward, in the Inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic final on October 29, 2011 in either Las Vegas or New York.
The Nottingham’s pugilist Froch, who has won 28 of his 29 fights with 20 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is going to enter the fight as an underdog against the undefeated American Super Middleweight contender, Ward.
However, Froch has been told by his trainer Robert McCracken that a win over Ward will definitely take him towards the boxing glory. Therefore, Froch is putting in all of his best so that he becomes the first man to beat Ward in the ring.
The 34-year-old Froch stated he wants to knockout Ward in the 11th or 12th round as it would be a perfect win for him. Froch revealed he is a little disappointed as he didn’t get any stoppage win over anyone in his last few fights but on the same note he
claimed against Ward he will win by the way of a knockout.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “A perfect fight for me is to outbox my opponent and catch up with him late in the fight, round nine, ten, 11, then get a stoppage to excite the fans. That's what I like doing. I've been disappointed in my last fights,
not because I've not been in great fights, but because I've not got a stoppage.”
“I'm confident against Ward that when I connect with a hurtful shot on the jaw section of the cranium, I'll do some serious damage,” Froch added.
The Froch-Ward bout will be a complete sell out as two of the boxing’s best will be taking on each other. However, let’s see whether Froch can really see off the unbeaten prospect Andre Ward or not.
