Carl Froch disses Audley Harrison, says he will give fans a real fight
In light of Audley Harrison’s abominable performance last weekend against WBA heavyweight titlist David Haye—he threw one punch in the whole fight—former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has called Harrison a “con man” who is out to “ruin” boxing.
According to ESPN and the guardian.co.uk, Froch drew a line between him and the former Olympic gold medallist and said that fans should have been prepared for the colossal letdown from Harrison.
"He could sell sand to the Arabs, that geezer," Froch said with humour. "He's been doing it ever since he won the Olympic gold medal 10 years ago. But people shouldn't be annoyed or asking for their money back. Because he's Audley Harrison, Olympic gold
medallist, world-class talker, he sold it. He's big, strong, he can punch and everyone got roped in.”
Froch will take on Super Six opponent Arthur Abraham on November 27 in Helsinki, Finland. The fight will fuse a rivalry that’s been burgeoning since the beginning of the tournament, in 2009.
Froch vows to give his English fans more than “Fraudley”: "I can do boxing a favour. Look at my last few fights and how exciting they have all been. This fight will be a better spectacle for fans. With me, you are guaranteed someone turning up who gives
it their heart and soul and who will be trying to win,” Froch said.
Froch backed his comments by saying that when one enters the ring, their essential personality comes out, and that in the case of Harrison, one could see he was scared from the opening bell with Haye. In his case, though, he will take his “cold-hearted
b*****d” mentality into the ring.
"Everyone's different. Audley Harrison is quite a soft, gentle guy. He gives it all the talk but, when he's in the ring, you can see he's scared to death. Your personality comes out when you fight – and when I fight, I mean business."
