Carl Froch pokes fun at Arthur Abraham at Helsinki workout
British prizefighter Carl “The Cobra” Froch continues to incite opponent Arthur Abraham before they turn to fists on November 27 in Helsinki, Finland.
The fighters, now situated in Helsinki, participated in a joint public workout for fans that quickly devolved into an Abraham-bashing fest.
In particular, Froch mocked Abraham by shadowboxing with an extremely high-guard, a signature trait of Abraham's boxing style.
"I expect him to fight like this," Froch, 33, joked in an AFP article.  "I don’t think he can do anything else, he will need his guard on Saturday. I have been criticized for my defense, maybe I will use the high-guard myself."
Froch recently confirmed that a loss would lead him to legitimately consider retirement, despite it being only his second professional defeat. Obviously bent on winning, "The Cobra" looks to regain the WBC super middleweight title that was stripped from
him after his last bout against Mikkel Kessler.
Tensions between Froch and Abraham are already dangerously high, as the two have called each other everything under the sun since their fight was postponed due to Froch citing a back injury.
It doesn’t help that Froch’s model girlfriend, Rachael Cordingley, recently dubbed Abraham the "Midget King."
"Abraham is only a midget. Carl is going to dethrone the Midget King," Cordingley told the British tabloid
The Sun.
Ironically, Abraham is mere centimeters shorter than Froch.
"Froch has insulted my promoter, my team and me," Abraham concluded, who fights for Sauerland Event out of Germany.
"I will punish him for that on Saturday. It will be a great fight between two warriors. I cannot wait to get my hands on him and make him pay for all the rubbish he has said in the press."
Abraham, like Froch, is coming off a Second Stage loss in the Super Six tournament, after hitting opponent Andre Dirrell after he had slipped to the canvas. For the blow, Abraham was immediately disqualified.
