Carl Froch promises Andre Ward that he will be 110 percent fit in October – Boxing news
The two-time and reigning World Boxing Council’s Super Middleweight champion, Carl Froch, has vowed he will be in the best shape of his life ahead of his mega showdown with the current World Boxing Association’s World Super Middleweight champion, Andre Ward.
Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch and the undefeated American pugilist, Andre Ward, are both set to meet in highly anticipated ‘Winner takes all’ final of the Super Six Classics Tournament on October 29, 2011 in Atlantic City.
Therefore, both combatants were present in Oakland Wednesday at their pre-fight press conference where Froch claimed in front of the media that he will be 110 percent fit on the fight night.
The 27-year-old Ward has never been defeated in the ring as of yet. He has won all of his 24 professional fights, with 13 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Froch on the other hand has a record of winning 28 of his 29 professional fights and 20
of his wins came by the way of a knockout.
The Nottingham’s 34-year-old for that reason also commented on his opponent and said he cannot truly appreciate victory as he has never tasted defeat.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I’ve been a pro boxer for some 10 years now. I’ve won a world title, lost a world title and won it back again. I’ve tasted defeat and the bitterness that comes with that. And I never truly appreciated the sweetness
of victory until I tasted the defeat. That knowledge has motivated me to double-up my efforts. I promise to come to Atlantic City in October 110 percent prepared both mentally and physically to perform.”
Carl Froch and Andre Ward’s fight will have WBA and WBC belts and the prestigious Ring Magazine titles on the line. Thus it is fair to say this bout will have all the hallmarks of being an absolute classic but we still will have to see if Froch is able to
see off Ward or not.
