Carl Froch says it would be an easy night against Glen Johnson – Boxing news
World Boxing Championship super middleweight champion Carl Froch says if he sticks to his plan, it is going to be an easy night for him against Glen Johnson.
The Cobra, Carl Froch, will defend his World Boxing Organization super-middleweight title against the 42-year-old Jamaican boxer Glen Johnson this Saturday in Atlantic City. This fight also acts as the semi-final of the World Super Six Classics and the winner
will meet the World Boxing Association champion Andre Ward in the final in December 2011 at the Madison Square Garden.
The 33-year-old Englishman Froch told the media, “It is all down to what I do. As long as I stick to my game plan, it is another easy night. If Johnson thinks he can walk through my shots, more fool him.”
Froch also revealed his love for snooker saying he wanted to be like Steve Davis, who is the six-time world champion. He said he has always loved individual sports since one cannot blame anyone else and it is all dependent on yourself.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I would see people on television like Steve Davis winning all those world snooker titles and earning good prize money and enjoying what he did.”
Froch added, “I got into snooker. I wanted to be the next Steve Davis. All I knew is that I wanted my job to be something I loved doing. I loved sportsmen, like Steve Davis, Nick Faldo and John McEnroe. It was always one-on-one sports that had me glued to
the television.”
However, the Nottingham’s Boxer upon getting back to the business said he knows Johnson always tries making it a hard night. Though he admitted that Johnson is a wily old fox and knows the game inside out, he said he has the tools to deal with him.
Froch has recently beaten the likes of Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell and Arthur Abraham. Let’s see if he can add another win to his name this Saturday.
