Carl Froch vows to rain down bombs
In his latest article for the Nottingham Post, former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch wrote that he was going to "rain down bombs" on opponent Arthur Abraham when they fight on 27 November.
Considering Froch’s style, it’s likely that his statement will ring true.
Froch and Abraham are due to clash in Helsinki, Finland, for the WBC title. The bout will be part of the third stage of Showtime’s Super Six Boxing tournament, which is proceeding as originally planned following a series of unforeseen setbacks.
"I'm going to rain down bombs on Arthur Abraham and show him who's boss," Froch said. "It will be another victory for Nottingham and I'm looking forward to getting that green WBC belt back around my waste. It will be made even sweeter as I will also be putting
Saulerland promotions out of this tournament."
In terms of tournament rankings, Froch is a close No.3 to Abraham, who comes in as No.2, just below undefeated Andre Ward. While both Froch and Abraham have one win and one loss in two fights, Abraham has one more point than Froch due to knocking out Jermain
Taylor in the first round of play.
Froch-Abraham were initially set to touch gloves on 25 September, but the bout was delayed when Froch claimed a back injury sustained in training.
The rest of Froch's article discussed upcoming boxing bouts, including the November 13 clash between WBA heavyweight titlist David Haye and challenger Audley Harrison.
"Harrison seems to have really got the public behind him for this one—as we all know the British fight fans love an underdog. He is certainly talking the talk ahead of their fight."
"With so many casual fans tuning in to watch their fight, I only hope they both put it all on the line and keep those viewers glued to their TV sets. We live in a soccer world at the moment and the more new boxing fans that we can attract, the better."
