Carl Froch’s trainer Rob McCracken expecting a fantastic fight with Andre Ward – Boxing news
Rob McCracken, who is a long time trainer of the two-time and reigning World Boxing Council Super Middleweight champion Carl Froch, is expecting his man to put on a great show against Andre Ward, who is the current World Boxing Association Super World Super
Middleweight Champion.
The undefeated American prospect Ward holds a perfect record of winning all of his 24 professional fights, including 13 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
Ward, who won a Gold Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics’, is also rated among the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world by many boxing analysts. Therefore, McCracken, who is charged with masterminding Froch’s game plans, has no doubts it will not be
an easy night for his man.
“Ward is unorthodox, he's very fast, he's very talented,” said McCracken. “He won an Olympic gold medal as an amateur and is the other best super-middleweight in the world alongside Carl. Carl and him have pretty much proved themselves as the two best -
Carl definitely has and we feel he's done more in the division than Andre has.”
“So we're expecting a fantastic fight between two tremendous boxers,” McCracken added.
Froch and Ward are set to meet each other on December 17, 2011 in their highly anticipated ‘Winner takes all’ final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City in New Jersey, United States.
This fight was previously slated for October 29 before it was moved on due to Ward as he sustained a deep cut in a sparring session. Similarly due to the withdrawals and other delays, the Super Six tournament has taken almost two years. However, Froch is
happy upon getting a chance to unify two of the titles.
“It was always a two-year tournament and by the time this fight happens it will have been just over two years,” Froch told Press Association Sport.
There is not much time left now in this eagerly awaited bout and all that is left to see is whether the fight will live up to the expectations or not.
