Carl Jenkinson believes Arsenal defence can improve even further – Premier League News
Arsenal defender, Carl Jenkinson believes that the Gunners can improve their defence even further. The player has gone on to admit that starting the season with two clean sheets is rather outstanding for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, but hopes for the team to improve on their
defending this season.
“Two clean sheets is very positive for us,” Jenkinson told the official club website.
He then went on to admit that the team was looking to improve even further on their current streak and were going to try and build a very solid wall at the back, which in turn would help them win more games in the future.
“That is something we will look to build on because if you keep clean sheets you have got a good chance of winning games.”
Jenkinson then turned his attention to Udinese and admitted that the Gunners had shown the team respect and would do the same in their next encounter.
“We had to show them respect and we will have to show them respect next week because they are a good side. But we have won and kept a clean sheet so that is positive”
Jenkinson then went on to admit that the early goal in the game was what proved to be the difference in between the two teams and that Udinese really threatened to get a goal back in the game.
“It’s always nice to get an early goal and that got us going and got us playing. Udinese are a good side and they looked dangerous at times.”
Arsenal took the game to Udinese in the early stages of the game, but in the second half, the Italian side went on to push Arsenal till the very last minute of the game.
It is amazing that the Gunners defence for a change was up to the mark and really helped repel all the threats that were created were Udinese. However, with Gibbs and Djourou picking up injuries, the team’s main concern is to try and get the two back to
full fitness.
At the same time, for some odd reason, Arsenal’s attack seems to have depleted rather tremendously. The gunners produce all the right moves in the build up and even make their way into their opponent’s area brilliantly. However, the final ball seems to almost
always go missing.
The Gunners are going to have to get their attacking spirit back and once they do, they can link that with their new found defensive reinforcements, can really go all the way.
