Having recovered from a stress fracture, Carl Jenkinson has admitted that he is relishing the opportunity to be included in the Arsenal first team once again.
Jenkinson was signed from Charlton at the start of the season and since then, the young defender has been making regular appearances for the first team.
However, the defender went on to suffer a stress fracture to his back in November and has been on the sidelines since then.
With Jenkinson now finally having recovered, he is going to be included back in the first team. Despite this fact, the player’s chances of getting in the starting eleven are more than likely to be limited, given the fact that the remainder of the squad is
now also up and running.
The full back is not thinking about whether he is going to make the starting eleven or not, since he has admitted that his primary focus is to prove his worth and earn his spot in the team.
Jenkinson is quoted to have said: "Overall I felt the injury was a shame really because I was really getting into my stride before I got injured"
"I was gutted about that but I am almost back now and I am just looking forward to showing people what I can do to impress in an Arsenal shirt."
He then went on to reveal that he felt honoured every time he put on an Arsenal shirt. At the same time, he is rather disappointed to miss out on such a major portion of the season.
Instead of sulking over his injury, Jenkinson admitted that he had taken his time to study and learn from his mistakes and he is now looking to go all out when he steps back on to the pitch.
The defender then ended by adding: "Every time I pull on an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 shirt it's an honour and to think that I have probably missed out on a good 10 games that I could have played in has just been frustrating. But at the same time it's enabled me to take a
step back and watch and learn."
