Carl Landry joins Golden State Warriors; Brandon Knight holds a training camp for kids – NBA News Roundup
Golden State Warriors sign Carl Landry
According to Carl Landry’s agent Mark Bartelstein, his client is set to join the Golden State Warriors for the coming two seasons. The semantics of the new deal have been drawn in such a manner that Landry is set to receive $8 million for the two years while also holding a player option for the second season.
In his five years in the NBA, Landry has been a part of three different organizations prior to joining the Warriors. He was drafted as the first pick of the second round by the Seattle SuperSonics back in 2007 but was immediately dealt over to the Houston Rockets.
He spent the first three years of his career averaging just below 10 points per game but was starting to show his talents in the 2009-10 season when he averaged 16.1 points per game before being traded over to Sacramento Kings.
The time with the Kings turned out to be the best thing for his career as he averaged 18.5 points per game. After playing just 53 games with Sacramento, Landry made his way to the New Orleans Hornets.
Landry represented the Hornets in 41 games last season. In those games, he averaged 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds. He would hope adjust right into the Warriors line up come next season.
Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Knight holds a camp for Kids
Detroit Piston break through point guard from last season, Brandon Knight held a basketball camp for young kids over the weekend. Over 100 young talented children attended the camp on its first day.
Knight, who will be the man around which the Piston will look to launch their charge next season, said the purpose of this camp is to teach the young kids some skills.
"Basketball is a sport that you can do on your own," Knight said. "You can do a lot of drills on your own, and I think that's what I did a lot on my own as a kid. Just to give them a chance to learn some drills and be able to take it back for themselves is something I want to do."
