Carles Puyol is confident that Josep Guardiola will stay at Barcelona
Captain of the Catalan team, Carles Puyol appeared as a guest on Barcelona’s official television channel “Barca TV” for a programme named ADN Barca. Carles Puyol was accompanied by the young Barcelona striker Pedro Rodriguez, who
has been in great form since last season.
Carles Puyol clearly stated during the show that he knows that the current coach Josep Guardiola is going nowhere despite the speculations surrounding his transfer to the English Premier League. The Catalan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 said, “The players
all want him to stay and where would he be better off? If it was up to us, he’d definitely continue.”
Both the Barcelona players talked about the team’s current situation and spoke about the book that is about to be released – Barca. Estem fent historia. The book will feature pictures of the players that have never been seen before.
The Barcelona captain had a few words to say about the book as he said, “It would be a great present. It shows Barça from the inside, the parts that people don’t normally see and we have decided to unveil. They are really good photos and you can see what we
are like.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331 simply had no doubts about Josep Guardiola, as he looked certain while saying Guardiola was going to stay in Barcelona for the coming years. He said that personally, he thinks Guardiola is going to stay and all the
other players want him to stay as well. He further said that sometimes the team performs fabulously and sometimes it does not. “The Boss” is meant to stay because the team lacks motivation at times and Josep Guardiola is the key factor behind their motivation
that helps them win games.
Pedro Rodriguez seconded the notion and hoped that Josep Guardiola stays in Barcelona for years to come. He said that he was the one who helped him break through into the first team and he is thankful to him for that. He further
added to this by saying that Guardiola is a great coach and the team can win even more matches if he stays for a longer period.
Pedro Rodriguez highlighted a few facts about Athletic Bilbao’s home ground, the San Mames where the Spanish Champions drew the game 1-1 and Eric Abidal scored the only goal for the La Blaugrana. The Cup game saw the table-toppers
advancing to the next round of the Spanish Cup. However, Pedro Rodriguez stated that he had his own memories with the Athletic Bilbao ground as he scored his first goal for the Barcelona first team there.
Both players also highlighted about the Ballon d’Or, which is going to be a “Barcelona party” as the final three selected for the award are all Barca players and La Masia products - Xavi Hernandez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 and Andres Iniesta.
Pedro and Puyol said that it is very hard to select one out of the three and whoever wins it will make Barcelona proud. Pedro said, “The most important thing is that the Award is going to stay here at the Nou Camp. I can’t see me ever winning it – these guys
are on another level!”
