Carling Cup Fixture: Tottenham Hotspurs vs Arsenal second half report
Arsenal has managed to open their scoring before going in to the break, thanks to Henri Lansbury for that perfect finish from the short range.  Arsenal would be more satisfied because it is the first time in the Carling Cup fixture that they are going in
half time with one goal to their name at the White Hart Lane.
While on the other hand, a very pathetic performance from the home side. Nobody at the White Hart Lane looked satisfied with the way their team played first forty-five minutes. Tottenham Hotspurs went in to the half time break with a goal conceded.
During the half time, managers would be thinking to bring on some inspiring substitutes to change the progression of the game. Here are the players that can be replaced.
Arsenal have got quite a lot of options in the bench. Manuel Almunia is the second choice keeper for the Gunners in the league cup. Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna are the two defenders that can play for the Arsenal. Jay Emmanuel- Thomas and Craig Eastmond
are the two midfielders available at the bench for the winning team. The two impact substitute strikers for the Gunners can be Russian skipper Andrei Arshavin and Arsenal new signing Marouane Chamakh who has been very impressive since joining the club.
While on the other side Harry Redknapp would be looking to level the things up and without a doubt there are a lot of attacking options for the impressive manager to pour in and change the course of the game.
Carlos Cudicini is the Tottenham Hotspurs second choice keeper, who is warming the bench. Along with him it is weekend fixture’s goal scorer and defender Alan Hunt. Niko Kranjcar is one the midfielder, who is a regular in Premier League, but he is also on
the bench. Jermaine Jenas can also be substituted. He is one of the promising attacking midfielder.  Then it is the speedster, English left winger Aaron Lennon, who can also play his part in the second half. And finally it is the Irish skipper and striker
who can come and score for the Spurs.
Rightly so, few changes were made right after the half time. It was the loosing team who went for the strikers. The experienced Irish Skipper Robbie Keane was brought in place of Giovanni Dos Santos. And along with that, English speedy winger replaced the
yellow carded Jake Livermore.
What a substitution it proved to be? Complete example of impact substitute. Just after four minutes into the games Tottenham levelled the score thanks to the veteran Robbie Keane for that equaliser. The goal was dubious as Robbie Keane was completely offside
and along with that it was a very poor effort from the Gunners goal-keeper Lukasz Fabianski. Fabianski had contact with the ball but it ended inside the net.
Spurs were right back in the game. The game came to the point from it was started and this time home team was exerting more pressure on the visitors. Home crowd was also supporting the team to its maximum.
Meanwhile, two Arsenal players earned yellow cards, Centre Back Laurent Koscielny and the goal scorer from the Gunners side Hanri Lansbury.
It was quite balanced second half as both the team were playing high quality football. There were attacks from both the sides and both the sides defended very well. Nobody succeeded in breaking the deadlock and at the end of the second half it was all level.
Now, there would be extra-time given and if levelled after extra-time then the clash would go on to penalties.
