Carling Cup - Preview: Arsenal vs. Wigan
Arsenal are currently looking to prepare themselves for the arrival of Wigan Athletic in what is guaranteed to be an encounter to be remembered. The two teams will be facing each other in the knock out stages of the Carling Cup and as
a result they would both be looking to go all out and get the win in the night.
At the moment Arsenal have a far better form as compared to Wigan, who have managed to lose their last two Premier League encounters, where as Arsenal have managed to win and lose one game.
However there was some trouble in the Arsenal camp in the build up to the game. Arsene Wenger the team's manager had gone ahead and listed Robin Van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott as the three attacking players in his formations.
As a result one player who felt he has rather had no opportunity to prove himself at the team is Carlos Vela.
The Mexican striker has grown rather frustrated at the club and as a result his agent has gone to the press and stated that if the player doesn't get more opportunities in the future, then he might be forced to leave the team. That being
said he also pointed out how his client was in high demand by Europe’s elite clubs and as a result Arsenal board will be definitely thinking about the treatment they would have to adopt with the player.
That being said, Arsenal will really have to come together as a team for the match and put their differences aside as the team really needs to win some silverware this season. They will be looking to take one step closer to doing just
that tonight that is of course if they can manage to stay bottled and not throw away another lead, as they had done over the course of the last couple of weeks.
Along with that the younger players who are being given a chance tonight by Wenger will be looking to prove their worth.
On the other end Wigan will be looking to put an end to their bad form and as a result will be looking to leave no leaf unturned in their pursuit to get to the next stage of the Carling Cup.
With all the card's set up for an intense encounter, most fans will be hoping that the game lives up to its expectations.
